Since the purpose of a resume is to present the most relevant information about you and your skills as concisely as possible, the best ones are straightforward and clearly presented. To get an idea of what yours should look like, take advantage of the experience of older siblings or friends and ask to take a look at theirs. You can also find examples of good resumes on the Internet or in resume-writing books.

Every little bit counts
Your resume should do more than just present your job history. You can include any activities that could enhance your credentials: the computer knowledge you gained in school, your experience teaching Sunday school, the work you did with your town's recreation program. Activities like these require skills that can be translated into proven experience for an employer. Making a potential employer aware of these kinds of activities will show them that you are focused, well rounded, and trustworthy. Not too shabby! 

Consider your audience
Perhaps you tutored young students and are now intrigued by a counselor's job at an academic-oriented camp. That tutoring experience is perfect for your resume. You could include a phrase such as ""demonstrated maturity and responsibility ...
