Description

The NEED Scholarship Fund will provide funding to help meet last dollar needs of low income African American students through the Unmet NEED Grant Program. To be eligible to apply to the Unmet NEED program, the student must: (1) Be a United States citizen; (2) Be an African American resident of one of the following counties for one year prior to entering a school or college: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Washington or Westmoreland; (3) Demonstrate unmet financial need of at least $1,000 after the financial aid award package has been determined; and (4) Have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) less than $5,000 [Based upon the EFC calculation from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)].
